2023 Paicines Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir was aged for four months in French oak barrels, imparting gentle notes of structure, spice, and structure. A subsequent four months in stainless steel preserved the wine’s vibrant fruit character, resulting in a beautifully balanced expression with depth, elegance, and freshness.

Lush and inviting, the 2023 Pinot Noir opens with vibrant notes of jammy strawberry, cherry, and boysenberry. Well integrated oak influence enriches the fruit flavors and adds a touch of spice and structure, leading to a smooth, lingering finish with soft tannins and elegant complexity.

This single-vineyard Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown in the Chalk Crest Vineyard within the Paicines AVA. At an elevation of 1,737 feet, the vineyard benefits from well-drained soils and a dramatic diurnal shift. Warm, sun-filled days promote full ripening and rich fruit expression, while cool coastal breezes from nearby Monterey Bay preserve the wine’s natural acidity and delicate aromatics. This unique balance of climate and terrain results in a Pinot Noir of elegance and vibrant character.
